Admiring envy

According to commandments we have it is wrong to feel envious about other people and their lives. It is a sin for one to want something other people have. Well, it is wrong in case it is a malignant envy but I believe there is nothing bad in case you are happy about people who managed to gain success and respect of other people and you would like to manage to gain the same things.

It is wrong to have dark thoughts about people who are more successful then you are, but there is nothing wrong in case you see other happy and successful people and you wish you were of the same kind. It is the admiring envy that makes people wants something other people have but never make other people which those who have the stuff get unhappy or lose something.

The admiring envy has no strict object. It is not like you see a man living in a huge and beautiful house and you want something wrong happen to him in order to get this house. It is like you see that man and a house he has and you happy about he managed to buy it and you think about you would like to have a house just as beautiful as he has.

Though, the admiring envy is also a passive feeling and it never makes people do something in order to get what they want. This feeling only make people want to feel just a good as other people feel. There is no harm the admiring envy brings for those who are envy, but there also is nothing good it brings.
